Apple was expected to announce the new iPad lineup in April but that seems unlikely as per the latest report.News

Possible Delay in Launch of Apple’s 2024 iPad Pro and Air Explained

Apple users waiting to see the new iPads will have to wait a little longer. According to the latest development, the 2024 iPad Pro and iPad Air lineup will be released in May and not April as previously suggested. The new update comes via Bloomberg, which reports that Apple has pushed back the launch until May as it finalizes production of the new iPads, which will feature major changes, including an OLED screen on the Pro model.

That’s not all, the report mentions that Apple wants to fine-tune the software of the new iPads and all these adjustments have taken longer than the company had previously predicted. The company is unlikely to hold an event for these products as well, but it is likely that Apple will launch several additional devices alongside the new iPads.

The new iPad Air and Pro models are expected to get the big update that many people have been asking for. In terms of hardware, Apple should offer the M2 chipset for the iPad Air, which will likely get a new 12.9-inch version, the first for the Air tablet lineup. It’s interesting to see the company justify bringing the Air to this size, which more or less puts it in the Mac/laptop category.

As for the iPad Pro model, we expect Apple to mess with the M3 chip, which has an OLED screen and changes to its design, which will inevitably put a price burden on the lineup.

The two iPad models could be alongside a new version of the Apple Pencil and a new-look Magic Keyboard, which seems to build on the functionality of the 12.9-inch iPad models and combine them with iPadOS for best results.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on how Apple plans to announce the new iPads, and whether or not the company will do so before WWDC 2024 in June.
